If you are trying to get into better shape and you need a sports watch to keep you on track, then it may be considering one of the great watches within Polar’s fitness collections. Polar have a reputation for creating some of the best sports watch training computers that money can buy.

Polar are also noted for pioneering the first heart rate monitor chest strap devices. While Polar are best noted for creating some of the most advanced sporting technologies on the planet, they also have some great beginner watches such as the Polar FT2. Here is a brief Polar FT2 review.

The first thing that you will notice about the Polar FT2 heart rate monitor watch is that it comes in a modern and stylish design with a large digital display screen. The watch has a round, grey front pusher button for starting and stopping the running stopwatch and has the convenient HeartTouch button, that allows you to change the display screen without a button press by simply brining the wrist watch within close proximity to the heart rate chest strap. The Polar FT2 heart rate monitor watch, features the T31 heart rate monitor chest strap, that features Polar OwnCode to transmit a digitally encoded signal and thus avoids cross talk interference. The primary feature of the FT2 sports watch is that it supports heart rate zone training, which is an effective way to ensure that you are training at the right level to achieve your fitness goal.

For instance it is well-known that training at a low intensity is the best way to burn calories and achieve a weight goal. Using heart rate zones you can set up the zone at a low intensity range, ensuring that you continually run slow and do not run outside your heart rate boundary.

The FT2 Polar heart rate watch, features a summary screen of the last training session you have performed. On the summary page, you can review your elapsed time and your average and maximum heart rate. The Polar FT2 watch features the ability to automatically calculate your optimum target heart rate zone, based on your maximum heart rate that the watch calculates based on your age. If you don’t need this feature, then you might prefer the Polar FT1 watch, which looks essentially the same as the FT2. The next watch up is the Polar FT4 watch, that features 10 training files and can measure the calories you have burned.
